Frequently Asked Questions
We know there's A LOT to prepare for when it comes to conferences. We want to make sure you have everything you need! Check out the topics below for general information regarding SALT.
General Information
When is it?
The conference begins mid-afternoon on Friday, January 3rd, and ends after lunch on Sunday, January 5th, 2025. An itinerary of the conference will be provided before the event via email and through the CUFI High School SALT Website.
Where is it?
SALT will take place at the Drury Plaza Hotel in San Antonio, TX.
How much does it cost?
Registration is $45 for non-local students (requiring flights and hotel) and $15 for local students who do not need lodging or transportation.
Please note: All airfare purchased is non-refundable. In the event of a cancellation or no-show, after CUFI has already booked airfare, the student will be responsible for reimbursing CUFI for the entire cost of the flight.
Can I invite my friends?
We encourage you to have your friends apply for SALT by using the application link.
What is the registration process?
You must complete the online registration form which can be located inside your acceptance email. You must fill in all of the required fields and pay the appropriate registration fee. Within 72 hours, a Frosch Travel agent will contact you with a confirmed flight. You will have 24 hours to make changes to your itinerary. If you have to cancel after CUFI books your flight, you will be responsible for the full cost of the ticket.
Packing Suggestions
When it comes to packing keep in mind the airline you are traveling on. Checked luggage may be free on some airlines or could have a fee on others. The dress code for the SALT Conference is business casual attire. See the list below for a suggested packing list.
-
Government-issued ID (driver’s license, driver’s permit, passport, etc.): for use in the airport and to check in for the conference. For minors, an ID is not a requirement but it is highly recommended. A photo of your birth certificate would work as well as a photo ID.
-
Reusable water bottle to refill with water throughout the conference
-
Bible
-
Business casual attire for Friday and Saturday sessions (enough for 2 days; no jeans should be worn during Friday and Saturday programming; you should plan to not need to wash laundry at SALT). A good guideline for this is to dress as if you are going to a job interview:
-
Examples of ladies’ business casual attire for this event: nice blouses, slacks, skirts, blazers, nice cardigan sweaters, dresses (dresses and skirts should be at the knee)
-
Examples of guys’ business casual attire for this event: button-down shirts, slacks, suit jackets, nice shoes (There should not be t-shirts)
-
-
Comfortable dress shoes. There is not a lot of walking entailed for SALT. However, we do have long days and want you to be as comfortable as possible.
-
Light jacket or sweater because it can get cold in an air-conditioned building, or if you would like to get fresh air during breaks.
-
Pajamas and undergarments
-
At least two outfits of casual clothing for after-programming hang-out time, and for Sunday programming.
-
Toiletry items (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, face wash, hygiene products, etc.)
-
Prescription medications, including an epi-pen for allergies, if they have one
-
A few snack food items, such as granola bars or protein bars (highly suggested).
-
Spending money for souvenirs or additional expenses, such as meals during traveling
Provided Meals
Thanks to our generous donors. All meals are covered during SALT. If you have any dietary needs, you will be contacted by our offices regarding meal selections during the conference.
Students are encouraged to bring additional cash for snacks or beverages which can be purchased at the hotel snack bar for after programming and hangout time.
Community Standards
This is a professional conference that respects the highest standards of the Christian community. As such, the dress code is business professional for all sessions.
CUFI High School has a strict no-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol during SALT. Disruptive behavior of any kind will not be permitted and will result in removal from the conference. Acceptance of the scholarship provided to you by CUFI and by your participation in SALT, you understand and agree to abide by the community standards set forth above.
