CUFI Applauds Inclusion of TFA, Aid to Israel in Omnibus Bill
SAN ANTONIO – On Friday, leaders of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, welcomed the inclusion of the Taylor Force Act in the recently passed omnibus bill.
“Today is a good day for the US-Israel relationship. CUFI has been working to advance the Taylor Force Act for over a year, and we are very pleased this bill has now become law. The Palestinian Authority, which receives hundreds of millions of dollars in American taxpayer support, is paying people to kill Israelis and Americans. That is why we felt this bill was absolutely vital,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.
The Taylor Force Act has been at the top of CUFI’s legislative agenda since late 2016. The organization’s members have sent more than 1 million emails to Congress in support of the bill and it was one of just three items CUFI lobbied in support of during the group’s 2017 Washington Summit.
“From the Taylor Force Act to military aid to Israel, the omnibus bill contains several key items that were on CUFI’s policy agenda. Like the majority of Americans, it’s clear that the President and the lion’s share of Congress understand the importance of the US-Israel relationship,” noted CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.
“CUFI was the first pro-Israel organization to publicly support the Taylor Force Act, and we have pushed hard for its passage ever since. We celebrate this victory not only for what it does to keep our tax dollars out of the hands of the Palestinian Authority, but also for what it does to shine a bright light on the PA's true nature. While so often described as a partner for peace, the PA is in fact a state sponsor of terrorism that pays its citizens to murder Israelis. Americans understand this reality far better today than they did before this effort began,” added CUFI founding executive director David Brog.
With 4 million members, Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. CUFI spans all fifty states and reaches millions with its message. Each year CUFI holds hundreds of pro-Israel events in cities around the country. And each July, thousands of pro-Israel Christians gather in Washington, D.C. to participate in the CUFI Washington Summit and make their voices heard in support of Israel and the Jewish people.
